Whats your experience with electric fillet knives?

I know I have both a rapala and a Mister twister.....and I prefer the cheaper M/Twister over the other big time!!!

I have both the Twister and a cordless rapala.I like the cordless but the battery life isnt that good. But it is nice not having the cord in the way.Bang for the buck you cant go wrong with the twister.Long as you dont overheat them they last a long time.

I agree, battery life is not very good in a rapala.

I usually never catch enough fish to make an electric knife worth it. confuse

But when I do I have a Rapala plug in knife that works well.  I spent 2 hours cleaning bluegills last Sunday. biggrin

Howdy Bobber, It was a great demo video -- but I keep it simple with a good old- fashioned Cabella's (Rapala look alike) filet knife. I can sharpen it corrctly and achieve good results. The hard part is getting those nice walleye's coming in... Have fun...we are waiting to see a video of the Shimmy up to the bobber cam... Malmo Mikesmile

I've always just used the old Hamilton Beach Electric Knifes with the handle on the top. I do use one of those fish gloves now after a nasty sliced finger I got a few years ago.

Its my favorite also!!!

I have Mister Twister too and am very happy with it. no need to spend big money on one of the higher dollar ones.

I have the twister with a Rapala Blade!!.  The point on the Rapala blade is superior to the twister blade and more flexible. I think I have the best of both worlds!

I tried the Rapala blade in my M/T and they didn't fit? They had a little different bend in the area that enters the hsng?

I have had several. The biggest dissapointment was the cordless rapala. It is very expensive and after the first year the batteries no longer function properly. I currently use a storm knife with a rapala replacement blade.

Hamilton Beach!

Same knife most people use on Thanksgiving to carve their turkeys. $9.95 @ Kohls.

I have an American Angler corded fillet knife that I love to use. As with most knives, you become familiar with it, and I can now clean a fish in under a minute.

We've had the knife for 8 years and it's just starting to burn out on us. Still butchering fish, but the next knife is going to be another American Angler.

I have the Rapala corded one, my sons gave it to me for Fathers day, so that is the one I will use. Not real happy with the power, but it does a decent job. I only use it on pike, otherwise I prefer to use my hand held knives, 6" & an 8". Now the Twister does peak my curiosity. L2f
